The Halo 4 Game of the Year Edition is an special edition of Halo 4 which will cost $4.99 USD in the United States at time of release (October 2013). It will contain some additional content that were previously only available on pre-order in some stores.[1]

The Game of the Year edition is presented with a new cover art: John-117's helmet facing the Didact's Cryptum.[2]
- Halo 4 game disc and manual.
- War Games map pack - Unlocking the Majestic, Castle and Crimson map packs, and the Strider and Scanner helmets.
- Spartan Ops Season 1
- Champions Bundle - With the Infinity Armor Pack, the Bullseye Map Pack, Steel Wepon Pack, and several exclusive content.
- Five armor skins - Forest for HAZOP, Circuit for Oceanic, Web for CIO, Raptor for Venator, and Pulse for GUNGNIR.
