The Flood Bomber Form is an airborne Flood form that was encountered during the Battle of the Flood-controlled Shield World in February 2351. It attacks by dropping growth pods full of infection forms on enemies. It is usually spawned through either a Flood den, vent or colony.[1]

Description

The Bomber Form appears to have an abdomen similar to the head of a Flood carrier form. This is likely where they incubate the infection forms they carry. It is also probably where they hold whatever keeps them in the air, probably a lighter-than-air gas, similar to Huragok.

It has two arm-like tentacles coming from the sack on either side of the 'head', and many tentacle-like appendages coming from the 'mouth'. The Bomber Form has a face-shaped appendage with two empty eye-holes near the front of its body. Because most Flood forms do not use eyes for locomotion, but instead use the sensory antannae on the end of their infection forms, it is likely the Bomber Form was created from creature indigenous to the Shield World. It was likely a floating creature before being infected.

Trivia

  • The Pain Train skull on the Halo Wars level Beachhead requires the player to kill ten Bomber Forms.[2]
  • In an issue of Gamepro, it was mentioned that there would be a second flying Flood form besides the Flood Swarms. This was later revealed to be the Bomber Form. Ironically, a picture of the Bomber Form also appeared in the issue, accompanied with the confusion of GamePro as to what it was.
  • Despite speculation, the Bomber Form cannot be an infected Huragok as Huragok are artificially created. It is also much too large to be a Huragok.
