Keyes requested that Jeffries be transferred to UNSC Light Frigate Midsummer Night. After being transferred to Midsummer Night, Gamma 54 piloted by Jeffries raided a civilian carrier called Finnegan's Wake for navigation data. Jeffries was sent with Keyes and ODST platoon commander Canfield, with a group of ODST. Finnegan's Wake turned out to be an Insurrectionist ship that was rigged with bombs. Gamma 54 was destroyed, but Jeffries survived.
