These mines played an invaluable role in The Battle of Onyx, as the Dusk was able to lay a field of HORNET mines to destroy 12 Covenant starships and wound four others, buying the Battlegroup Stalingrad valuable extra time before it was destroyed when Covenant reinforcements arrived.[1]
