This has been assumed to be another [[Covenant]] race, although it is not known for sure. In a deleted scene, a mural can be seen showcasing the Covenant races, including a very large creature believed by some to be a Sharquoi. However, this creature could also be a [[Drinol]], which may or may not have been cut at that stage of development. There is no direct evidence, then, to state that the Sharquoi is the large creature, although it is difficult to think what else it could be. There is even a possibility that Sharquoi is the Covenant word for Drinol, although the name Drinol does not follow the same patterns of all the other human names.

Background

The Sharquoi didn't make it into Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2 or Halo 3. It is unknown if it will make it into future games.

This has been assumed to be another Covenant race, although it is not known for sure. In a deleted scene, a mural can be seen showcasing the Covenant races, including a very large creature believed by some to be a Sharquoi. However, this creature could also be a Drinol, which may or may not have been cut at that stage of development. There is no direct evidence, then, to state that the Sharquoi is the large creature, although it is difficult to think what else it could be. Due to the chronology of the conversation (between Halo and Halo 2), the Sharquoi could be the covenant term for scarabs witch were not included in Halo. It could be a certain strategy that can only be used in cases where the enemy is getting beaten back by the covenantto their home planet. There is even a possibility that Sharquoi is the Covenant word for Drinol, although the name Drinol does not follow the same patterns of all the other human names.
