They were used to tow the damaged hybrid vessel Ascendant Justice/Gettysburg back to Eridanus Secundus for repairs. [1]
It was used by John (117) in the book Halo:first strike to destroy the Unyeilding Herofant.
It used a captured covenant dropship (that was reinforced)to escape out of slipspace and land
on the Unyeilding Herofant.
