Spartan-062, the first Spartan to test the armor, was sent in training with several ODSTs. During the armor testing, Spartan-062 hurls a paintball grenade onto the middle of the unsuspecting ODSTs, neutralizing Echo 1 through 5. The sole survivor of the blast, [[Echo 6]], makes a run for it and was quickly gunned down by 062, but not before initiating the "Bulgoki Gambit". After Spartan-062 was subdued, she was brought back to the Special Ops Center, accompanied by Echo One and his ODST companions (whom all have paintball marks on them).

Echo 001 was a FSS-1000 Sabre that fought during Operation: UPPER CUT alongside Noble Team. The Sabre defended Anchor 9 when the station came under attack of Covenant Elsedda-pattern Banshees and Morsam-pattern Seraphs, then participated in the assault on the Ceudar-pattern heavy corvette Ardent Prayer. Echo 001 was the only Sabre that did not land on the topside hull of the corvette with Noble Team's Bravo 029.[1][Note 1]
