Thel 'Lodamee was a Sangheili Major in the Covenant during the Human-Covenant War, serving with the Third Fleet of Glorious Consequence.[1][2]
Biography[edit]
Battle of Miridem[edit]
- Main article: Battle of Miridem
During the Battle of Miridem in 2544, 'Lodamee made his first encounter with a Spartan, Sheila-065, whom he killed. He then abducted Dr. Catherine Halsey, the progenitor of the SPARTAN-II program, and escorted her to the fleet's flagship, the assault carrier Resplendent Fervor. During this raid, the rest of 'Lodamee's battalion was killed.[1][2]
Defending Resplendent Fervor[edit]
- Main article: Operation: WARM BLANKET
After escorting Halsey aboard, the Major reported to his Supreme Commander, Luro 'Taralumee. Eventually the fleet discovered that a team of Spartans were inbound toward the flagship. The Fleet Master berated 'Lodamee for surviving despite the deaths of his comrades, commenting that Thel "...[had] not the heart to die with honor." Soon, the three surviving members of the Spartan team, led by John-117, boarded the ship in order to rescue Dr. Halsey.
Seeing this as an opportunity to regain his honor, Thel sought to kill the Spartans. He and two Minors ambushed John, Kelly, and Fred. Fred killed one of the Minors with a combat knife and held back Thel and the other Sangheili while John and Kelly continued to search for Dr. Halsey. Just after John found Dr. Halsey, Thel reappeared and challenged the Spartan to an energy sword duel. Thel managed to gain the upper hand in the duel and disarmed the Spartan. However, just as this happened, the fleet cleared the magnetic field that had prevented them from jumping into slipspace. The Fleet Master separated the entire aft section of the ship and pulled Thel back to the main section just as the latter disarmed John, infuriating 'Lodamee. Fleet Master 'Taralumee mused that 'Lodamee would either die or take on the mantle of the Arbiter.[2]
Production notes[edit]
- Thel 'Lodamee was voiced by Jason Carroll.[3]
- 'Lodamee's very existence is a matter of retroactive continuity. The Major in "The Package" was originally intended to be Thel 'Vadamee, the future Arbiter, as foreshadowed by 'Taralumee's final line. However, Halo: The Cole Protocol (released a year before Halo Legends) had previously established that 'Vadamee's first encounter with a Spartan was in 2535, at which time he was already a Zealot. To add to this, the manner in which 'Lodamee is foreshadowed to become the Arbiter is inconsistent with the manner in which 'Vadamee was anointed into the role. The Definitive Edition of Halo: The Fall of Reach rectified the discrepancy by establishing 'Lodamee as a separate character; his prior engagement with the Spartans was revealed to have resulted in his killing of Sheila-065, whose death Dr. Halsey is said to have witnessed in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx.
