Ultra mines deployed on the surface of Installation 00.

The Ultra mine, also known as ambush mine,[1] is a type of landmine employed by the Banished. Ultra mines are deployed from orbit to the ground. When deployed, the Ultra mine is cloaked, and detonates when enemies are detected nearby.[2] Given it shares the same casing, it is likely derived from the plasma mine.

In Halo Wars 2, Ultra Mines is a leader power exclusive to Pavium. When activated, seven mines are deployed to an area in a hexagonal formation, with the seventh mine in the center; rotating the camera allows the player to rotate the pattern’s orientation. The mines are cloaked shortly after being deployed. The mines detonate when enemy ground units enter its proximity. Units caught within the explosion take damage, and become "designated", taking more damage from subsequent attacks. In Blitz, Ultra Mines is exclusive to Pavium and costs Blitz Energy 50 energy.
