Dredge is a multiplayer arena map for Halo Infinite that was added to the game on August 9, 2023 during Season 04: Infection. The map was built entirely in Forge with direct inspiration taken from the Halo: Reach map Countdown.[1]

Universe and lore

Dredge is set within an unidentified underground human facility holding an excavation of a Forerunner structure.[1]

Overview

Layout

This map's layout is similar to Countdown's layout, with changes made to refresh gameplay flow.[1] There is no object—Sabre or alike—obstructing the view across the upper floors. The Ventilation area from Countdown was removed; instead, its bottom floor entrance was replaced by a one-way teleporter that moves players from Stargate to an elevated platform overlooking Outside. The central wall separating Outside and Overlook now has an opening, effectively creating a third entrance between the two areas. The West Outside and East Outside areas (the Big Door area in Countdown) are separated by a gap (the Cave), forcing players to jump across to reach the opposing base's entrance; otherwise, they need to detour through the open area Yard on the bottom floor. Two additional columns allow players to jump up from the bottom floor to the bridge connecting the two rooms housing the gravity lift exits. The West and East Nest areas on the third floor are now connected to the main bases, thereby removing the easily-defendable corners on the third floor. The stairs leading up from the bottom floor basement to either bases now lead to the diagonal hallways rather than the back of the bases.

Callouts

The following are locations on the map that are so named on the player's heads-up display during gameplay:

  • Outside
  • Overlook
  • Stargate
  • Yard
  • Cave
  • East Tree House
  • East Nest
  • East Cave
  • East Base
  • East Outside
  • East Basement

  • West Base
  • West Outside
  • West Basement

Production notes

Dredge was announced as part of a Halo Waypoint post on August 4, 2023, only five days before release. At the same time, it was revealed that the map would receive a 24/7 playlist upon release.[1]
