Overview

Design details

Bloodblades are not exclusive to a specific pattern of fireblade, as they have been seen both as Meluth'qelos-pattern fireblades[4][5] and Pelosus-pattern fireblades.[6][7]

Usage

Bloodblades were used by some Special Operations Sangheili[1][8] such as the Silent Shadow[9][2] with one of their earliest known uses being during the Battle of Algolis, during the Human-Covenant War, at the attempted execution of Atriox.[7] They were also seen in the defense of a Covenant moon base.[8]

They were also sometimes used in the UNSC's War Games simulator, for example in Infection sessions.[6][10]

Bloodblades were also in use with the Banished, with one being in the possession of Jega 'Rdomnai during the Battle for Zeta Halo in 2560.[4]

Gameplay

The Bloodblade is used by zombies in Halo 2: Anniversary's Infection mode.

It can also be used in the campaign of Halo Infinite after Jega 'Rdomnai's defeat. It provides additional stat boosts even greater than that of Okro 'Vagaduun's Duelist sword.

Notes

  1. ^ Sangheili blood is purple, so "bloodblade" may be a human-given name or named for the blood of humans (or Jiralhanae or San'Shyuum) killed by bearers of the swords.
