'''Ensign''' is a junior [[commissioned officers|commissioned officer]] rank of the [[UNSC Navy]]. It is the lowest commissioned officer rank, and is equal in rank to [[Second Lieutenant]] in the [[UNSC Marine Corps]]. He served on the [[UNSC Frigate]] Gorgon for four years.Thats when he was promoted to [[First Lieutenant]]. While he was on the Gorgon, he and the rest of Admiral Cole's fleet had sped around the [[Outer Colonies]] chasing and being chased by the, [[Covenant]]. On his four years of duty. Ensign had seen dozens of worlds glassed and ''billions'' murderd. He had drifted from office work to low priority assignments. By the time there were no more Outer Colonies since they were all destroyed by the Covenant and they were pushing inward towards the [[Inner Colonies]]. In his academy picture he looked ten years yonger. He had neatly trimmed jet-black hair, a toothy grin, and sparkling green eyes. He was suppose to be watching for Pirates, Black Market Traders and the Covenant. His station never llaunched one single probe silhouette. Thats why he requested a "Dead End" assignment. Thinking it's safe.

Ensign, abbreviated to ENS, is a junior commissioned officer rank of O-1 in the United Nations Space Command Naval Command (NAVCOM) rank structure; including the UNSC Navy and Office of Naval Intelligence. It is preceded by Cadet, and subordinate to a Lieutenant Junior Grade.[1]
