'''Pluto''', formal designation '''134340 Pluto''', is a dwarf planet in the [[Sol system]], and the second-largest known dwarf planet (after [[Wikipedia:Eris (dwarf planet)|Eris]]) as well as the tenth-largest body observed directly orbiting Sol. Overview

There are no facilities on the dwarf-planet's surface; however, several military and scientific stations orbit Pluto,[1] including the Kelvin Research Station,[2] UNSC Monitoring Station Delta Five,[3] and the remote scanning outpost, Democritus.[4]

History

Pluto was discovered in the early 20th-century. It was originally considered a planet and thought to be causing issues in Neptune's orbit but was then downgraded to a dwarf planet when Pluto was determined to be ill-suited for that.[1]
