First Platoon was an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper platoon stationed on the Stalwart-class light frigate In Amber Clad, and part of the 7th Orbital Drop Shock Trooper Battalion.
They were aboard In Amber Clad as it followed the Prophet of Regret's assault carrier Solemn Penance through slipspace to Installation 05. They were launched via HEV pods, along with Spartan-117, to secure a landing zone for a flight of Pelican dropships.[1] They assisted the Spartan in his push through Covenant-held territory, aiding him in his assassination of the Prophet of Regret—an attempt that was ultimately successful. However, any ODSTs of the platoon that survived to follow John-117 all the way to the Prophet's temple complex would have been killed when the structure was destroyed by an overhead Covenant carrier.[2]
