Galileo II is the intended designation for a new permanent UNSC research base. Following an attack on the colony of Oban, the UNSC Infinity was tasked with scouting possible sites suitable for establishing the facility. Dr. Henry Glassman was to lead a survey team with a security escort while conducting the survey mission. While on course to a potential location, Infinity became trapped in the Aktis system when its slipspace coordinates were jammed by Catherine Halsey.[1][2]
