Description
Armor
Troopers sport fatigues with varying camouflage patterns depending on the operation. The armor plating used by the Army is generally brown-gray. Several color variations of the armor also exist, from dust-brown, to gray, to the traditional olive-green of the UNSC. The main components of the armor include an armored vest, a helmet and large shoulder pauldrons. The chest armor also has an extension to provide protection to the groin. The shins are not armored like in the Marine BDU, with only dust-gray combat boots and black kneepads on the lower leg. The thighs have attachment rigs for equipment much like in the other versions. On the waist is a utility belt used for storing equipment.
Troopers sport fatigues with varying camouflage patterns depending on the operation; the most widely used is a light woodland scheme, though desert pattern fatigues are also common. The armor plating used by the Army is generally colored dust brown, gray, or olive drab. The main components of the armor include an armored vest, a CH252 combat helmet, shoulder pauldrons, thigh armor, and in some cases, shin guards. Most of the armor components are standardized and are shared by the different branches of the UNSCDF, primarily the Marine Corps and the Air Force.

The chest armor has an extension to provide protection to the groin. The thighs are protected by plates of UA/NxRA non-explosive reactive armor with attachment rigs for equipment. The shoulder pauldrons are secured into rigs covering the upper arms and attached to the armor vest. Different types of pauldrons may be worn with the armor, the most common ones being a GUNGNIR shoulder pad and a larger pauldron of a different model; some troopers wear a different pauldron on each shoulder, while others wear two of the same type. Radio operators wear no pauldron on the left shoulder.
Some UNSC Army Troopers wear balaclavas, and also feature helmet attachments such as tactical goggles, monocle eyepieces, flashlights and sensors and sniper goggles identical to those used with the "sharpshooter" ODST armor variant. Troopers also wear many different types of backpack, including radios and webbing.

Equipment
The uniform consists of one GUNGNIR shoulder pad, a larger shoulder pad of a different model, and a CH252 combat helmet. Some troopers also have either a flashlight or a CNM on the sides of the helmet. Troopers typically wear a Tactical/LRP chest, with three ammo pouches and a UA/NxRA utility on their right thighs.
On the waist is a utility belt used for storing equipment. Troopers commonly wear different types of backpacks, including radios and combat webbing. Troopers often wear various helmet attachments, including tactical goggles, heads-up display eyepieces, flashlights, HU/RS modules Command Network Modules, and optics devices. Troopers typically wear a Tactical/LRP chest piece with three ammo pouches. Some troopers are also equipped with a tactical "soft case" attached to the left thigh plate.

Troopers often also wear a green heads up display eyepiece or goggles.

Trivia
*The two types of shoulder pauldrons of the BDU are identical to either the shoulders of the GUNGNIR variant (formerly EOD) of the MJOLNIR Mark V Armor, or the Base Security variant.
*The helmet also has an identical shape to that of the Military Police helmet variant of the MJOLNIR Mark V Armor.
