Talk:Bannix

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

From the article it seems like Screecleaver is more of a title or honorrific then commander, the actual rank. Which is also addressed in the same article. I think therefor his rank should remain as Commander. Thijsbos (talk) 14:54, May 15, 2024 (EDT)

It is definitely a tricky one. The audio log that had Screecleaver shared the same format with several other audio logs, and they appear to have a mix of titles, roles, and ranks: High Sumpter (Outpost Intel 1), Pioneer Guard (Outpost Intel 3), Grenadier (Outpost Intel 5), Blademaster (Outpost Intel 8), Screecleaver (Outpost Intel 9), Siegeburner (Outpost Intel 11), Scoutmaster (Outpost Intel 13), and Captain (Outpost Intel 15). However, I have noticed that in this Canon Fodder, whereas Jopmop, Durakkus, and Vimo 'Arach (also a Screecleaver) all carry the "Commander" prefix, Bannix's rank seems to be omitted, along with Thav 'Sebarim, who is identified as a Kaidon. It could be a case where Bannix is a Commander within the Banished, and a Screecleaver within his clan (not unlike Warlords who are Captains or Chieftains in their clan, but carrying the role of Warlord - the Enc22 isn't particularly clear on this either). Do let me know what you think! JackVibe 14:47, May 15, 2024 (EDT)
Well, it would be useful if I actually knew what a Screecleaver meant. But I hear what you're saying, different titles/ranks can be applied to the same individual. I think as long as we stay consistent between articles I'm good with either. Thijsbos (talk) 14:54, May 15, 2024 (EDT)
Agreed, none of those titles or ranks mean anything to us at the moment and it's frustrating. I've updated the page again. Hope that's helpful! JackVibe 16:06, May 15, 2024 (EDT)
