The Salia system is a planetary system that was on the fringe of the massive Covenant empire. The system is orbited by at least three planets, including the Sangheili colony of Joyous Exultation and Salia III. It is one of the systems under the protection of the Combined Fleet of Righteous Purpose. During the Great Schism, the system was a strong point for a Sangheili coalition.[1]
A disaster occurred in this system in November of 2552 when Joyous Exultation and its moon Malhiem, was destroyed when an Unggoy called Kwassass on the CSO-class supercarrier Sublime Transcendence inadvertently triggered a NOVA bomb.[2]
