During Sedra's economic turmoil during the [[Human-Covenant War]], her parents were able to keep most of their wealth. Samantha would eventually enlist in the [[Sedran Colonial Guard]] in an attempt to stay away from her controlling parents and see more of Sedra. Wisner's exceptional marksmanship skills would catch the attention of [[Randall Aiken|Colonel Randall Aiken]]. Wisner and the Colonial Guard were forced to work with an [[Office of Naval Intelligence]] [[Locke's team|unit]] led by [[Jameson Locke|Lt. Commander Jameson Locke]] to stop the terrorists from obtaining more of the element used to create the bioweapon. After a journey through slipspace on a [[D81-LRT Condor]], the team arrived at their destination and landed on the Halo's surface. While [[Talitha Macer|Private Talitha Macer]] and a Sedran [[pilot]] remained in the Condor, the rest of the group moved to secure an [[Aleria]]n [[Bactrian-class freighter|tug]] used by the smugglers. After discovering the freighter was empty, the team followed horse tracks that led them to [[Wikipedia:horse|horses]] used by the smugglers. Eventually, the group came across the two smugglers—[[Arris Le]] and [[Haisal Wari]]—mining the element in a cave. The smugglers attempted to escape but they were quickly caught and restrained by Locke and [[Michael Horrigan]]. The group attempted to return to the Condor for extraction; however, the dropship was commandeered by a [[Lekgolo]] swarm and flew off, subsequently crashing in the distance. As more of the Lekgolo appeared, Wisner and the group retreated as three of the Sedrans and the horses were killed. The fast and agile Lekgolo pursued the group as they escaped into a narrow crevice where Locke used a special appliance to [[holography|holographically]] [[active camouflage|camouflage]] their position from the aliens, but the Lekgolo detected and ate the clocking unit. As the eels closed in on the group, Arris revealed that the Lekgolo can sense active technology and movement, prompting the group to reluctantly shut down the electronics present in their equipment. As the group continued their trek to the deposits, it was realized that only two individuals would be able to leave Alpha Shard in the smugglers' tug and that which two individuals that would leave would be decided when the mission was completed. To prevent the Lekgolo worms from tracking them, the team ditched their armor. Infighting in the group began to occur, with Horrigan believing the Sedrans and smugglers should be left behind, while the smugglers were reluctant to help the others. Eventually, the team took a break to allow everyone to refill on fresh [[oxygen]]. After taking the brief oxygen break, the team continued their journey. While trekking up an incline, Wisner dropped her oxygen breather and it rolled down the hill. As she ventured to retrieve it, [[Gregory Ramos]] followed her to make sure she was successful. However, when the breather rolled down the hill, it became activated. With the Lekgolo alerted of the humans' presence, they tracked Wisner and attacked her. As Ramos moved down the hill to check on her, she desperately grabbed him for help as the eels swarmed over her. Ramos attempted to pull her away from them, but one of the Lekgolo bit his hand and he lost his grip on her. Wisner was dragged away and killed, while Ramos escaped. The Lekgolo proceeded to search for the rest of the humans, but were ultimately unsuccessful. Wisner's death heavily scarred Ramos.{{Ref/Reuse|nightfall3}}

Shortly after her death, Lekgolo worms formed to take Wisner's appearance in an attempt to lure the surviving humans into plain sight. However, the team caught onto the deception.
