Halopedia:Patrollers

Patrollers are users who are given blocking, rollback, patrolling, and CheckUser rights.

Current Patrollers are listed at Special:Listusers/patroller.

Rollback allows reverting edits to become easier. Patrollers can simply click the rollback button in the history page, rather than undoing the edit. This feature makes fighting vandalism more effective.

Patrollers can be considered an in-between of users and sysops and are chosen by bureaucrats for a) activeness and b) trust.

Although most sysops were patrollers at one point, a user can be promoted immediately to sysop and never be a patroller. The two roles are considered entirely separate as far as promotion goes, but work together to block vandals and "patrol" recent changes.
