- Jake Courage begins his career as a photo journalist on Reach.[2]
- Commander Dmitri Zheng rams his UNSC Frigate into a Covenant destroyer. He avoids court marshal because the disabled destroyer was destroyed by MAC fire. Whilst he is away, his home world is glassed.[3]
- Spartan-II Soren-066 is assigned to a supposedly temporary desk job on Reach. It is here that he meets Partch, an Insurrectionist who will eventually change Soren's allegiances.[4]
