In multiplayer the “Elite” has 5 more shield points and 9 more health points than a normal “Spartan”, as well as having the ability to regenerate their health, which Spartans cannot do, and a faster movement speed. These advantages were put in place to counter the much bigger hit box the Elite character model has. With some Elite helmets the player has a substantially lower chance of getting shot in the head from the back as well.
