The Battle Pass is a progression system for unlocking player customization in Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo Infinite.[1][2] Every season will introduce a new Battle Pass, which contains different options for player customizations.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection[edit]

In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the different tiers of the Battle Pass can be unlocked through Season points, which could only be earned by completing in-game Challenges and by progressing through the first 100 ranks in the game's rank scheme.[1] Season points are a purely in-game currency, and cannot be bought through real-world purchases.

Please see the respective Season pages for their Battle Passes.

There are free rewards in certain levels available for all players, while there is a premium track which requires the purchase of the Premium Battle Pass to unlock rewards. Rewards include player customization items (including armor permutations, armor coatings, emblems, weapon charms, and consumables for the Battle Pass.[4] Players can select an active Battle Pass to make progress towards and unlock the rewards, all of which are exclusive to the Battle Pass and unavailable to obtain through other means.[2]

Additionally, players can use Consumables, XP Grants, Double XP Boosters, and Challenge Swaps, to expedite progress on the Battle Pass.[5] The XP Grant gives a player 250 XP immediately. After activating a Double XP Booster, XP rewards from completing challenges are doubled for an hour, though they need to be activated prior to a multiplayer match for the effect to apply to any challenges completed during the match.[6] Players can use Challenge Swaps to exchange an active weekly challenge for a new challenge from the same difficulty tier.[7]

During events, Event Passes are shorter Battle Passes that players can make progress towards by completing event challenges.

Please see the respective Season pages for their Battle Passes.
