Official summary
Plot synopsis
Months after the Librarian's imprint gave him the mission of "right what the Forerunners did wrong" below Mount Kilimanjaro, Spark reflects about his life as the human named Chakas, his fateful encounter with Bornstellar, releasing the Ur-Didact from the Djamonkin Crater, how the Librarian connected his', Bornstellar's, and Riser's lives and how, of the three of them, now he's the only one that remains. After his reflection, he sees the Halo ring on the Saggitarius Arm, the same ring Spark never expected to see again.
Three weeks earlier, on August 2558, the Ace of Spades crew lands on the planet Sonata, to visit Rion's mother and inform her about John Forge's death.
