The X23 Non-Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse Cannon (NNEMP) is an electromagnetic pulse weapon employed by the United Nations Space Command.[1][2]
Overview
Design details
The X23 NNEMP consists of a turreted mount on top of the Gremlin vehicle. When fired, it emits a large electromagnetic pulse capable of knocking out vehicles and other electrical equipment.[1][2]
Development history
The X23 NNEMP was developed by the Materials Group in the early stages of the Human-Covenant War to counter Covenant power generators and other important relaying stations during protracted battles. After it was found vehicles were sensitive to this particular EMP, the XRP12 Gremlin was made to support this weapon.[1][2] Its special EMP ability is entirely ineffective against infantry.
