Japan is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean on Earth.

History

The first written mention of Japan is in Chinese history texts from the 1st century CE. The Empire of Japan was a major participant in World War II, and was the location of the first uses of Nuclear weaponry in 1945. Japan joined the United Nations in 1956 and fell under the purview of the Unified Earth Government by the 22nd Century.

Japan is crowded and economically volatile. It is, however, consequently well-endowed with scientists, economists, and global culturalism, making it technologically advanced as well. The United Nations Space Command has long taken an interest in Asia for no better reason than its vast size. Japan has always held a great amount of sway in the UEG, and its position on the world stage did not change when the UNSC gained more power during the Human-Covenant War.
