how can they expriment with life i thought only the percursors could create life Butthead4

The Mantle supposedly gives them the "authority" to do so. This is a beneficial act - the Forerunners aren't out there cobbling together monsters for the sake of it like mad scientists, they're working to unravel the mysteries life holds, and to use them for their own goals - ie; genetic "geas"'s. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 16:43, 19 March 2011 (EDT)

so whoever has the mantle has the power butthead4

The Mantle is the philosophy that Forerunner society is based around, so yes, you could say that part of that philosophy gives Lifeworkers the right (and duty) to experiment with life SPARTAN-347 22:12, 19 March 2011 (EDT)

There's a subtle difference. Technically, for example, you have the power to engineer whatever lifeform you wanted, if you had several degrees in a number of scientific fields. You could do that, if you knew how. What the Mantle grants, and what the Forerunners think they have, is the right and authority to do so, that they have the blessings of their predecessors. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 05:45, 20 March 2011 (EDT)
