- The AC-220 Vulture gunship enters service this year.
- January 16th: The UNSC colony of Arcadia opens the DSRA, (Deep Space Research Array), designed to research and study extremely high gravity events, such as black holes, and other areas that exploratory vessels cannot visit directly. The DSRA is eventually destroyed by the Covenant during the initial attack on Arcadia in 2531.[1]
