As noone has cited any references, I am removing the mention of Division & associated Command numbers. These can obviously be reverted if references are used. Therefore, no more need for FactOrFiction template on article. -- Manticore Fleet Admiral.jpg Talk | CSV 15:51, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Facts Confirmed

  • On 05:25, 10 December 2006 (UTC) Yamanba had some issues with this article, including, "why are Lieutenant Buckman, Lieutenant Jake Chapman here and not on of the other Lieutenant categories?". However on 10:50, 1 January 2007 (UTC) they were resolved:

Yamanba, before you accuse any other ranks, check this out: List of Confirmed Ranks and Sources. It might shed some light on the situation. And, as before, you ought try double checking before accusing. It took me all of five seconds to flip open Halo: First Strike and find the page where it introduces Haverson (who is listed as a First Lieutenant in the article, if you read it). Please try this sometime, to save the rest of us the hassle of proving your accusation wrong.--Rotaretilbo 04:43, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Well...

Those Lieutenants were lieutenants on the ground forces. Lieutenant is a word that is used in many ranking systemms. The Naval Lt. ranks have different meanings than Marine Lt. ranks.

We know this may i ask what is yor point?--ryanngreenday 05:32, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

See the article Lieutenant for more information including disambig type section. -- Manticore   Talk | CSV 15:51, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Removed Lieutenants

Why?-- Esemono 22:11, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Well Haverson was proven to be in the navy and that calling him a first lieutant was a mistake but i dont know why Mckay was taken out.--ryanngreenday 22:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Navy Lieutenant and First Lieutenant

There were a lot of disputes between the two ranks of Navy Full Lieutenant and First Lieutenant. Navy Lieutenant is equivalent to a Marine Captain, and outranks First Lieutenant by one pay grade. They are also in separate ranking systems. Under normal circumstances, a Marine would not fly a Pelican dropship. And there was evidence that certain so-called "First Lieutenants" were actually Navy Lieutenants. The following is a list.

  • First Lieutenant Rick Hale — Lieutenant.
  • First Lieutenant Elias Haverston — Lieutenant.
  • First Lieutenant "Cookie" Peterson — Lieutenant.
Good one. People keep mistaking the two. Smoke My pageMy talkMy Editcount 14:21, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Company Commander... No.

First Lieutenants are rarely placed in command of companies - they are almost always company XOs or platoon commanders.

McKay

Yeah, most of the time Marine lieutenants don't command companies, but oftentimes they do when there aren't enough captains around e.g. 1st Lieutenant McKay commanding Bravo Company in Halo: the Flood.

Which makes the article incorrect, I think; it mentions her only commanding a platoon.

If you can produce the source (a page number and passage will do), feel free to change it. SmokeSound off! 22:18, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
