The UNSC Andraste was a UNSC frigate attached to the UNSC Home Fleet which guarded the Sol system from enemy attack. It was not featured in Halo 3 and thus it is unknown what purpose it had in the storyline. Concept art for this vessel was shown in the book Art of Halo 3.[1]
Trivia
- The Andraste's hull classification symbol as seen in concept art is K-201; 'K' was once a United States Navy hull classification for a corvette but has since been retired. As the Andraste has only been seen in concept art, it is likely that this was not its official number, as the vessel is clearly a frigate and thus should have the prefix "FFG" in its number.
- The name is likely based on Andraste, a Celtic war goddess.[2]
- Due to its hull classification sharing the same number as the Template:UNSCship (201), it is likely that the ship's design was replaced by a frigate for Halo 3.
