The Mikpramu-pattern warrior transport[4] (UNSC Type classification: Type-57 Dropship Troop Carrier, T-57 DTC),[2] colloquially known as the Phantom by UNSC forces, is a dropship originally in service with the Covenant and later various remnant factions.[5][1]

Design details
Whereas most Phantom models produced under the Covenant's reign had to comply with San'Shyuum architectural strictures, the Type-57 Phantom sports a traditional Sangheili design. Its appearance is inspired by aquatic predators found on Sangheili colonies. The Phantom is one of several post-Covenant Sangheili-designed vehicles to bear this design philosophy, an aesthetic which the San'Shyuum found inelegant.[1] The T-57 is easy to manufacture and maintain without access to high-tier fabrication facilities, at the sacrifice of exoatmospheric performance.[2]
Operational history
While the Type-57 Phantom saw service as early as the Battle of Earth,[5] it was not cataloged by the UNSC until 2557. The Type-57 DTC did not see widespread service until the aftermath of the end of the Human-Covenant War due to dwindling numbers of Type-44 and Type-52 Phantoms.[2] Various factions—most notably Jul 'Mdama's Covenant and the Swords of Sanghelios—called upon allied colonies and renovated long-abandoned manufacturing facilities to produce the dropship, along with other war matériel.[2] The Type-57 was used in multiple battles, including the Battle of Kamchatka and various engagements in the Blooding Years.[1] By October 2558, T-57 Phantoms were often used in Warzone simulations aboard the UNSC Infinity.[3]
