Ankara

Ankara is a region located in Mare Imbrium on Luna. The Anakara Resiliency Chamber in Ankara was the test site of the Defender, Enforcer, Raider, and Pathfinder variants of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor. The "Bosque de Negro", Luna's infamous Black Forest, is located somewhere in or near Ankara.[1]
During the Battle of Earth, Ankara was attacked by the Covenant along with many other locations in the Sol system. Thomas Lasky commandeered and flew a Banshee in the region during the battle.[2][note 1]
Trivia
This region is most likely named after the capital of Turkey.

- ^ It is never stated when or under what circumstances Lasky piloted the Banshee in Ankara. However, given that he makes a reference to an after-action report of the incident in Halo: Escalation, it is most apparent that it occurred during the Covenant's invasion of the Sol system.
