Armed assault boat

Template:Ratings The armed assault boat was an aerial vehicle used by the UNSC Navy and UNSC Marine Corps to deploy Orbital Drop Shock Troopers to ground targets. It was the primary method of deployment used by the ODSTs, along with parachute insertion. However, the armed assault boat proved to be ineffective. In addition to being very slow, the craft often sustained heavy fire once within firing range of ground-based defenses. In response to these shortcomings, the UNSC introduced a more efficient means of orbital deployment: the Single Occupant Exoatmospheric Insertion Vehicle.
