John-117 is a Spartan-II supersoldier in the United Nations Space Command.[2] He serves as the leader of Silver Team under the Asymmetric Warfare Research Group.[3]
Biography
Childhood
As a child, John lived on the Outer Colony of Eridanus II with his parents and a dog named Ellie. While exploring one day while on a family picnic, John encountered a Forerunner keystone in a cavern outside of the Reach for Life installation and he repeatedly drew both it and another keystone that was on Madrigal. Eventually, John's father grew frustrated and forced John to bury his drawings of the artifacts. During this time, John met Doctor Catherine Halsey who used a game to test John's luck.[1][4][5][6]
At the planet Oban in Visper System, John was at UEG Tier 2 Waste Salvage Colony where they were gathering and separating metal and plastic. The children were like in force labor camp and guarded by mean adult soldiers or guards with guns and tasers sticks. John was very young boy hiding with his girl friend, Mackee. He was reading called Dawn of Angels to Mackee girl at this point of time. They were both dreaming of a great forest and high mountains. While reading the book, he made an innocent romantic move on her. They were found by the mean guards who and shouted get back to work. They chased John and Mackee. They beat John to unconscious (seemingly dead) and they were tasering Mackee back so severly burnt her upper back. With the battle space ship, Covenant show up looking for the Blessed One, and they found Mackee and saved her from the tasering. The Convent agree that she is the Blessed one and took her with them. Mackee grab the book Dawn of the Angels around her arms and she agree to go with the Covenant at her free will. John and Mackee were both seperated, which Mackee still remembers for the rest of her life with her short memorable moment with John.[Film|TV|Episode=Halo-Emergence]

Production notes
John-117 in Halo: The Television Series was portrayed by Pablo Schreiber.[2] Schreiber's casting was first announced in April 2019.[7] Casper Knopf played John in his childhood,[1] and Logan Shearer played a teenage John during his Spartan training.[4]
