In 100,300 BCE (approx.), first contact is made between the Forerunner Primary Pioneer Group and the Flood on G617 g1. A military team is sent in later but is subsequently lost. The Flood escapes the planet, thus beginning the 3-century-long Forerunner-Flood war.[1]
