2005 was a fairly quiet year in terms of Halo, with no new titles announced or released.

Halo Universe events

November: Dr. Jonas Volman, the author of The Castaway Theory, goes missing.

Edgeworks Entertainment is founded.
February 9: The first episode of The Codex machinima series is released.
April 25: The Bonus Map Pack and Killtacular Pack for Halo 2 are released.
May 12: The Xbox 360 console is officially announced.
July 5: The Maptacular Pack for Halo 2 is released.
August: Cody Miller sets the record for Halo 2 campaign completion with a time of 3 hours, 17 minutes and 50 seconds without a single in-game death.
