A notable example of an expert system is used within Orbital Drop Shock Trooper drop pods for directing the pod descent and evasive maneuvers. The occupant has basic controls for course adjustment, however pods automatically vector on determined landing zones on autopilot-controlled flight tracks, minimizing exposure to enemy detection or incoming attack.[1]
