The Ministry of Etiology was a ministerial executive department of the Covenant. Its function is unknown, though its name suggests that it dealt with "the study of causes, origins, or reasons". The Minister of Etiology was present at Installation 04, aboard the Mjern-pattern agricultural support ship Infinite Succor, before he was assimilated by the Flood and the ship destroyed in order to prevent the parasite's escape.[1]
