Bandersnatch is a United Nations Space Command emergency code to be declared following a radiological- or energy-based disaster.[1]
Usage[edit]
The emergency code has been used in the following cases:
- In 2492, Bandersnatch was declared following the nuclear bombing by UNSC forces to destroy the rebellion on Far Isle.[1]
- During the Human-Covenant War, the code was used when a human colony was being glassed by Covenant naval forces.[1]
- On November 3, 2552; Cortana declared Bandersnatch, in addition to code Hydra, due to the attempted activation of Installation 05, and the Flood infection which had consumed significant portions of the ring and the Covenant holy city, High Charity.[1]
Trivia[edit]
The word "bandersnatch" comes from the famous poem Jabberwocky.[2]
