The External Hardened Uplink (HUL) is a device compatible with helmet variants of the Mark V and GEN3 MJOLNIR.
Usage
The HUL designed for acquisition of military intelligence, and is required for sensitive operations. It is a favourite of pathfinder units employing the AIR ASSAULT-class Mjolnir helmet.[1]
Variants
The HUL has two several observed variants.
"Camera" variant
The first variant appears to resemble a camera of some sort, and is typically worn on the right side of the helmet.
"Box" variant
The "box" variant resembles a cube, and can be worn on either side of the helmet.
HUL[3]
Third-generation external hardened uplink for MILINT acquisition, required for sensitive OPs.
Compatibility
The HUL is compatible with the following helmets;
- Air Assault ("Camera" variant)
- B-class Mjolnir ("Box" variant)
- CQC-class Mjolnir ("Box" variant)
- CQB ("Camera" and "Box" variants)
- EOD ("Box" variant)
- EVA (HUL [3] variant)
- EVA [C] helmet ("Box" variant)
- Grenadier ("Box" variant)
- HAZOP ("Box" variant)
- Intruder ("Camera" variant)
- Mark VI ("Camera" variant)
- Mark VII ("Box" variant)
- ODST ("Box" variant)
- Operator ("Camera" and "Box" variants)
- Pilot (HUL [3] variant)
- Recon ("Box" variant)
- Security ("Box" variant)
- Scout ("Camera" variant)
Production notes
- The HUL was an attachment for the CQC-class Mjolnir during the Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta. The cost of one HUL unit was 5,000 credits.[2]
- Helmets that have both the "Box" and "Camera"-type HULs available in Halo: Reach will refer to the "Camera"-type as the External Command Network Module. The INTRUDER-class MJOLNIR in Halo 5: Guardians also refers to its HUL as a CNM.
List of appearances
- Halo Reach (First appearance)
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Halo Infinite
