Template:Weapon Infobox The NA4/Defoliant Projector[1] is a type of incendiary projector used by the UNSC Marine Corps, primarily by the Hellbringers. It is a designation which encompasses at least three distinct weapons.

Variants

M6634/Defoliant Projector

Main article: M6634 flamethrower

The M6634 Defoliant Projector is a large weapon which fires a napalm defoliant, often fed to the weapon by an external tank carried on the user's back. It was often used by Hellbringers in the early years of the Human-Covenant War, including at the Harvest campaign, Battle for Arcadia and Battle of the Etran Harborage. The M6634 is compatible with the M301 grenade launcher attachment.[2][3]

M7057/Defoliant Projector

Main article: M7057 flamethrower

The M7057 Defoliant Projector is a somewhat smaller and more portable variant. Instead of napalm, the M7057 uses Pyrosene-V for ammunition, and has a gas tank located on the back of weapon rather than on the user's back. The M7057 is more decorative, with a face of a shark painted on the heat shroud. It saw use throughout the Human-Covenant War, particularly in its latter years.[1][4]

At least two versions of the M7057 exist. One of these has a nozzle which extends well beyond the heat shroud, and also has a large fuel tank protruding from the rear of the weapon, which can be removed and replaced on the battlefield to refill the weapon's fuel supply.[5] The second lacked this larger fuel tank, opting for a smaller one mounted just beneath the rear handle. Its nozzle was also much shorter, only barely extending beyond the heat shroud.[6]

M705 Incendiary Jet Tool

The M705 Incendiary Jet Tool, often nicknamed the "I-Jet", is a compact variant of the M7057 which is suitable for use in a vacuum. It is fed by a tank-pack, and uses self-oxidizing fuel. It existed in the early years of the Human-Covenant War.[4]
