"8 on 8 Big Team Slayer and Objective action."
— In-game description for Halo: Reach's Big Team Battle playlist

Big Team Battle (also known as BTB) is a matchmaking playlist in Halo 3, Halo: Reach, Halo 4, and Halo 5: Guardians.[1] Matches involve two teams of eight, making it the largest players by total player count. Big Team Battle orients towards the large, vehicle-based maps and involves both straight Slayer and objective games.

Halo 2

Big Team Battle existed in Halo 2 as an unranked playlist, though previously ranked.

Halo 3

Known as Social Big Team, this is a social playlist in Halo 3. There were both social and ranked BTB playlists, before they were both replaced by Squad Battle in the September Title Update. Social Big Team Battle was then replaced by DLC Big Team. When that playist retired, the current Social Big Team playlist came into play. All DLC is required to enter the playlist. Team size is set to 6-8 players, with a max party size of 16.[2]
