Violeta Maldini: Difference between revisions

On [[2537|January 1st, 2537]], almost six years after the [[Battle of Shield World 0459]], Maldini was awoken from [[Cryonics|cryosleep]] by [[Serina]] in order to perform routine operations and maintenance on the ''Spirit of Fire''. After checking on the ship's life support systems, [[Fusion drive|engines and reactor]], Maldini proceeded to inspect Cryo-bay Foxtrot 7. As Maldini completed and logged her inspection, she was attacked by a stowaway [[Flood infection form]] and was overtaken by the parasite. Serina, having begun the early stages of [[rampancy]], failed to take full measures and instead locked the resultant [[Flood combat form|combat form]] in the cryo-bay for study. After three days of study and observation, Serina witnessed the infected enter the [[Flood carrier form|carrier stage]] and spawn more infection forms. Able to absorb a host's knowledge, the Flood utilized Maldini's knowledge of [[cryo chamber]] codes to awaken and infect more crew members. The resulting Flood infestation aboard the ship was ultimately eradicated due to the efforts of Serina, Professor [[Ellen Anders]], and [[SPARTAN-II program|Spartan]] [[Jerome-092]].<ref name="SHH"/>
