Dermacortic steroids are medical drugs used by the United Nations Space Command for medical purposes. They accelerate tissue regrowth following catastrophic injuries where the body has experienced severe burns or trauma.[1] The last stage of dermacortic steroid treatment was known to be overly stimulating and unpleasant, even to a Spartan-II. As a result, most individuals undergoing dermacortic steroid treatment were sedated.[2]
Spartan-II Kelly-087 needed dermacortic steroids following her injury by a Mgalekgolo's assault cannon in the caves beneath Menachite Mountain on Reach in 2552.[1]
