Privilege is a flash-fiction story included in the Halo Wars: Official Strategy Guide. The story depicts Ripa 'Moramee as the Prophet of Regret approaches him in a cell and anoints him Arbiter.[1]

Plot synopsis[edit]

'Moramee sits in a dim cell held back by a plasma grid, the only source of light. His life has been filled with rage, hardship, and darkness. Regret addresses him, questioning if he has lost his way and if his path no longer brings purpose and joy. As 'Moramee listens, he focuses not on his own life, but how easily he could end the Prophet's life for disturbing his solitude.

The disgraced Sangheili stands, towering over Regret, and expresses his belief that the Great Journey excludes his alike; his destiny is to rot in the cell. Regret steps away slightly and, undeterred, steps closer to 'Moramee, explaining that the Journey calls for someone like him: A leader both cunning and savage enough to defeat a great threat to those on the path.

'Moramee reflects briefly on his past service, which has only led to his current state. Regret laughs, informing him that he has no choice in the matter; his fate is already sealed, and his name erased from the facility's records. Regret then bestows upon him the title of Arbiter. The Honor Guards react with surprise and confusion, their murmurs filling the room. Regret silences them, asserting that he need not explain what the Journey demands. The Arbiter, now resigned to his fate, declares his loyalty to the Prophet and asks what task awaits him.
