The Sumda'te-pattern sky stalker[1], known to humanity as the Type-36 Ultra-Heavy Siege Platform, or colloquially the Scarab, is a Covenant quadrupedal mining platform, occasionally used as a heavy weapon platform. Type-36 Scarabs are fitted with a massive Class-4 plasma cannon. These weapons are analogous to those fitted on the Type-27 Mantis, though they are likely a field modification.[2]

Type-36 Scarabs use a variety of different chassis designs, which rarely alters the performance characteristics of each individual vehicle. The Type-36 Scarab uses Lekgolo colonies bound together with its control systems.[2]
