The Eklon'Dal Workshop Support Wagon is a vehicle in the Death Wagon lineage of ground vehicles developed by the Jiralhanae.[1] The support wagon is colloquially known as the "Methane Wagon", having been modified (without authorisation) by Yapyap the Destroyer to utilise methane
Overview[edit]
Design details[edit]
It is an unstable, slow, and rickety modified version of the Shadow created by Unggoy. It has a parking brake made of a chunk of wood. The methane will detonate violently when its structural integrity is compromised due to the volatile infusion-enriched methane stored on it.[2]
Armament and support[edit]
The vehicle emits a Methane aura, clouds of infusion-enriched methane, that makes nearby Unggoy aggressive. The wagon can also catapult kegs of methane that release enriched gas clouds of the infusion-enriched methane.[2]
Operational history[edit]
In 2559, when Yapyap rebelled against the Banished during their battle with the crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire on Installation 00, Yapyap had a few Death Wagons under his control, hoping to upgrade them.[2]
Gameplay[edit]
Halo Wars 2[edit]
- Info: Support Vehicle, Methane aura boosts Grunt combat effectivenes and debuffs enemies, Fires methane shells
- Tier: 0
- Cost: 4, 300, 120
- Methane Wagon upgrades
Death Wagons are exclusive to Yapyap and can be made at Banished outposts once the leader power has unlocked them. They perform poorly against infantry, vehicles, aircraft, and structures as they primarily buff allied Grunt units and debuff enemies. They will also explode upon destruction, causing damage to nearby enemy units. In Blitz, Death Wagons cost 70 energy. Despite being rated poorly against enemy units, Death Wagons will typically outperform Marauders due to their buffs and debuffs.
Phoenix log[edit]
Flamethrower guitar attachment is on order. The Methane Wagon is a support vehicle unit which can be deployed by Yapyap THE DESTROYER. It's slow, rickety, unstable, and the parking brake is a chunk of wood, but other than that it works as well as you would expect a Grunt contraption to. Whether by design or malfunction the Wagon emits a Methane Aura: clouds of infusion-enriched methane that enhance the aggression and damage of nearby Grunts, while confusing and reducing the damage of enemy units in the stinky cloud. The Wagon can also make special deliveries of enriched gas clouds by catapult—launching kegs with the Methane Delivery special ability. The aura and clouds can be upgraded with The Good Stuff by drawing upon illegal infusions stashed aboard by its party-hard operators. Unfortunately, these special brews are rather...volatile. The Methane Wagon will detonate violently when its structural integrity is compromised. Yapyap THE DESTROYER dreams of owning a fleet of gold-plated warships to lord over the mean streets of Balaho. Well, Yapyap doesn't yet have the gekz saved up to afford that, so he has to settle for a souped—up Shadows in the meantime. But with a few more successes on the Ark he can at least upgrade them with aftermarket iridium plating, hubcaps molded with the face of legendary Grunt heroes, and massive spoilers which ensure the Great Journey can be travelled in style. Although it has not yet reached its final form the Methane Wagon's mix of combat and support abilities do make it the mullet of Grunt mechanized warfare: all business on the front lines, but party central in the rear. |
Trivia[edit]
In Halo Wars 2, if a Spartan hijacks a Death Wagon, the 2 grunts will remain in the vehicle. This is the second vehicle where the additional crew members remains in the vehicle while hijacked and continues fighting with the replaced driver. The first was the Marauder.
