The Brightlance compound reflex laser[2] is a laser-based directed energy weapon employed as the primary armament of the Mulsanne-class light frigate. One such weapon was employed by UNSC Panama against the CAS-class assault carrier Purveyor of Virtue, to little effect.[1]
Trivia
The weapon's name can be a reference to the Warhammer 40000 franchise, where the Eldar race's anti-tank laser is called "Bright Lance".
