Halo[edit]
In 2018, Scholastic launched its AFK (Away from Keyboard) program, an initiative which aimed to provide video game-related book titles for young readers. Microsoft's Halo franchise was among the many gaming properties included in the Scholastic AFK line. Scholastic first published Halo: Official Spartan Field Manual, an in-world gaming guidebook, on September 25, 2018. Scholastic later launched an original novel series starting with the release of Cassandra Rose Clarke 's Halo: Battle Born on January 1, 2019.[1] Its follow-up sequel, Halo: Meridian Divide, was released on October 1, 2019.
