Black armor?

There is no black armor for elite in halo2. There is steel/steel and a really dark blue/steel. The Steel/Steel is a Stealth. If you look closely, some of the spec-ops are clearly indigo, while others are a dull black. Like the "steel" from multiplayer. Load up the beginning of "The Oracle" and compare. You can see the color variations sometimes.

Yes, there are two different colors for Special Operation in Halo 2, but you can't know if Elites wearing the darker armor actually are Special Operation Officer, that's just a supposition.--Skysurf 16:13, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Officer?

You mean there are no SpecOps Elites in Halo: CE? Just SpecOps Officers? --Karzhani 04:30, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

That's not an officer in the main picture, in Halo 1 they had absolute pure black armor that didn't shine. The one pictured is regular SpecOps.

Aristocrats. A rank?

The bit about aristocrats and SpecOps Officers being two ranks below them. In the Beastorium (i apologise for the spelling mistake) it says that a Sangheili aristocrat is simply one that is allowed to weild an Energy/plasma blade/sword and since when playing as the Arbiter in halo 2 you can give swords to SOME of the elites under your command that would make those specops or specops officer elites(but i assume its officers as i turned the brightness on my tv up to max and the "swordless" ones were purple) aristocrats and since also in "another day at the beach" on the halo 2 map pack the minor elite was weilding a sword it would lead me to suggest that an aristocrat isn't a rank as much as a privellage open to elites of all ranks.Veros 'Murum 06:42, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Colour

Rtas' color is white, right? SpecOps Officer seems to be a purple-ish black. I guess Bungie changed the color of the Covenant SpecOps from Black in Combat Evolved to Dark Blue in Halo 2 so that players can see them more clearly. I never saw SpecOps Officers in Halo 2 though. If I recall, tFoR describes zuka's armor as a black. However, highly reflective black metal, when having any sort of miniscule hue, often has a purple/blue sheen. This can be seen in many iridescent minerals, such as boroite, geothite, and peacock ore. 69.132.69.87
